Born April 12, 1961, Matt grew up in Walla Walla and attended Walla Walla area schools graduating from Walla Walla High School in the class of 1979. He also attended and graduated from Walla Walla Community College with an Associate of Arts degree in 1983. Matt's grandparents, Norman and Bethene Herring became owners of the Marshall, Calloway & Hennessey Funeral Home in the late 1940's. At that time, the funeral home became known as the Herring Funeral Home. Matt is a third generation of licensed Funeral Directors in the Herring family. Matt received his Funeral Directors license in 1995. Having lived life in Walla Walla, Matt has been very active in the community. He is a member of the Assumption Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus (Michael Flohr Council #766), Walla Walla Exchange Club, Board of Directors for the Providence St. Mary Hospital Foundation and the Walla Walla County Traffic Safety Task Force, past President of the Walla Walla Community College Booster Club and the Blue Mountain Funeral Directors District and a current board member of the Washington State Funeral Directors Association. Matt has one son Zachary Mahan.

Travis, a Molalla, Oregon native and the only child of Steven and Rebecca Locke was raised in the Molalla area and was active in the agricultural community and participated in many equestrian based sports during those years. He attended Molalla area schools and graduated from Molalla High School in 1999. Travis has been in Funeral Service since the summer of 1997 and graduated from the Mount Hood Community College School of Funeral Service in 2004, as a consecutive two-year Sigma Phi Sigma funeral service fraternity President. Immediately after graduation, Travis relocated to the Walla Walla area to join the three-generation family operation of the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home as a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Shortly after moving to Walla Walla, Travis obtained licensure in the State of Oregon as a Funeral Director and Embalmer and later became a licensed Insurance Agent affiliated with the Forethought Insurance Group in 2007.
Travis remains active in the community of Walla Walla as a past board member and president of the Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days Board of Directors, past board member of Walla Walla Community Hospice and past board member for Blue Mountain Heart to Heart. His Memberships include the Knights of Columbus (Micheal Flohr Council #766), Assumption Catholic Church, Young Professionals of Walla Walla, Wheatland Wheelers Cycling Club, DMORT(Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team), Washington State Funeral Directors Association, Oregon Funeral Directors Association, Mount Hood Community College of Funeral Service Advisory Board and the National Embalmers Society.

Jeff, the oldest son of Loyd and Virginia Herring Mahan. He attended Walla Walla High School and graduated from there in 1977. Jeff along with his father, Loyd, was involved in the day to day operation of the Mahan Fuel Company until its sale in 1995. Jeff became a full-time staff member at the Herring Funeral Home at that time. Jeff along with being an Intern Funeral Director is also the manager of operations at the Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens.
An active member of the community, Jeff has served as a board member of Walla Walla Community Hospice, Walla Walla Little League Volunteer, current member of Rotary International, St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus (Michael Flohr Council #766).
Jeff is married to (Donna Neissl) Mahan and they have two children, Lindsay and Drew.

Coby, a native of Anaheim, California, he attended Anaheim area schools and graduated from Magnolia High School in the class of 1977 and attended the Yakima Community College from 1991-1993 with a directive in Science. Coby attended the Restorative Art College of Memphis, Tennessee at the ICFFA University. During this time, Coby was employed with the 4th generation family owned business, the Mountain View Funeral Home and Memorial Park of Tacoma for 17 years.
Coby relocated to Walla Walla, Washington with his wife, Jennifer and daughter, Laura in the spring of 2009 to join the team of Herring Groseclose Funeral Home.
