Walla Walla

Krissy passed on New Year’s Day in Walla Walla, WA, at age 41, with fireworks popping around the world. She was a true hometown girl, born at the old St. Mary’s Hospital in Walla Walla to Russell and Vivian Antes and was the baby sister to Shelby Lynn—both their names, Shelby and GT500 KR, chosen from their father’s Shelby Mustang passion. Krissy attended Blue Ridge, Garrison, and Wa-Hi. Not only did she graduate in 2002, but she was also so proud as she was a co-buyer with her mother and bought her first car, a brand new 2002 Honda Civic with only 15 miles on it. Having taken mechanic classes in school and with her father’s teachings, she kept up most of the maintenance on it herself.

She worked and put herself through Walla Walla Community College, receiving three degrees and graduating in 2009 with a Registered Nurse License. Krissy worked as an RN at Dayton General Hospital, Prosser Memorial Hospital, and, lastly, at Providence St. Mary Medical Center, where she was born. Later, in 2019, she sustained an injury while working in the operating room.

Her favorite place was the beach, actually two beaches. When young, the family vacation was in Florida, to her Grandpa Guthmiller, whose house was a few miles from Destin Beach on the Gulf of Mexico (also her mother’s favorite place, with the sea oats, white sand, and warm water year around). She would body surf, be buried in the sand, and look for shells. Later, she developed a love of the Oregon Coast and was married on Lincoln City’s beach.

Just as she was proud of her first car purchase, she was also thrilled when she bought her first and only house in 2010. Later that year, she met Jeffrey Ralph, whom she married in 2013. Then, the loves of her life, her two sons, were born, Izak Jadyn and Lukus Jaxon. You can tell by the spelling that with her dyslexia, it was easier for her to spell them phonetically! A favorite passion of hers was to read the books the boys had selected at bedtime, sometimes five or six. She not only celebrated holidays, especially the rabbit tracks the boys woke up to Easter morning that led to their Easter baskets, but she loved and was an excellent photographer, especially when using her spendy camera. She has taken pictures of many locals at sorority events, class reunions, weddings, and Quinceaneras.

Suddenly leaving her sons, family, and best friends, Krissy is no longer in pain and playing with the angels. Both sets of Krissy’s grandparents preceded her in death, as well as some aunts and uncles, leaving behind her immediate family of her sister (Shelby Fitts), brother (Adam Macomber), and both parents, as well as beloved friends and other family members.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
