On Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, our beloved
mother, grandmother and sister
Winifred E. (Piersall, Hagedorn) Perry
went to meet her Heavenly Father.
Winifred, or Winnie as she was known to most people,
began her life in a homestead cabin near Ridge,
Mont., on July 31, 1923. She lived her younger life in
Mission, S.D., on the Sioux Indian Reservation. When
their home burned in 1939 she and her family moved
to Walla Walla, where she graduated from Walla Walla
High School in 1942.
Winifred married her soul mate “Chet” Hagedorn in
1952 and together they raised five children and several
foster children. In 1969 while raising her family
and working she attended Gray’s Harbor College
in Hoquiam, Wash., graduating third in her class to
become an LPN. She was a dedicated nurse for many
years.
Chet passed away in 1983 and she married Bob Perry
in 1985. They lived in Pahrump, Nev., until Bob died
in 1996. Winifred then moved back to Walla Walla to
be close to her family.
Winnie was a wonderful seamstress, loved crocheting,
knitting and working in her yard. She was compassionate,
had a deep faith in the Lord and loved her
family and friends fiercely but most of all Winifred
was a lady. May God bless her!
She is survived by her daughters, Nickolyn (Rick)
Myers of Dayton, Jackolyn (Don) Griffiths of Tennessee,
Nancy (Jim) Inmons of Arizona; sons, Chester
(Chip) Hagedorn and Milton Hagedorn; sisters,
Wilda (Billie) Kennedy and Velma Jones; nine grandchildren
and various great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Winifred at
the Pioneer Methodist Church in Walla Walla on Saturday,
March 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. The family requests
that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to either
the Pioneer Methodist Church, Blue Mountain Humane
Society or charity of choice.
Winnie will be deeply missed by all whose life she
touched.
