Rev. William Bruce Thompson

June 12, 1929 — April 2, 2015

Rev. William Bruce Thompson was born to Joe and Beatrice Thompson in Amarillo, TX on June 12, 1929. He passed away at Regency at the Park on April 2, 2015 and went to be with the Lord.

He attended schools in Texas and California.

He married Florene Glover and they had 2 daughters. After a divorce, he married Rosezella Gooch in Reno, NV. They moved to Washington. One daughter and a son completed the family.

Bill accepted the Lord in 1957 and later became an ordained minister for the Pentecostal Church of God for 50 years. He pastored several churches in Oregon and Washington. He was the pastor at the Walla Walla Pentecostal Church of God from 1971 to 1997. After retiring, he and Rosezella lived in Starbuck until she passed away.

Bill married Linda Trawick Nov. 3, 2002.

Bill enjoyed gardening, fishing, and playing pool, but he enjoyed leading people to the Lord and pastoring his congregation the most.

Bill is survived by his wife, Linda at home, 3 daughters, Judy Noble and Sherry Kimbrough, of Turlock, CA and Barbara Thompson of College Place and a son, Dale Thompson of Walla Walla, 4 stepchildren, 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Viewing & visitation will be Tuesday, April 7 from 4-7 at Herring Funeral Home and the funeral will be on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Pentecostal Church of God at 428 Cedar Street, Walla Walla at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Stroke Foundation through the funeral home.
