William Roy Long

William Roy “Bill” Long of College Place, Washington passed away September 15, 2020 at home.  He was born January 22, 1948 in Tekoa, Washington to Chester R Long and Lois R (Van Nice) Long.  Bill attended Walla Walla High School.

On June 1, 1968 he married Ruth Ann Corrow in Milton Freewater, Oregon.  They resided in Walla Walla until 2004 when they moved to College Place.

Bill worked for Green Giant in Walla Walla until 1972.  He then worked for Arnold-Thomas Seed Service as the warehouse foreman until 1995.  He worked for Amerigas as a propane delivery driver until he retired in 2012.

In his younger years, Bill enjoyed his ’56 Chevy and won many street races.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Corrow and several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father; his three sisters, Doris Daniels, Gladys Johnson and Wanda Scoles; both brothers Chester “Babe” and Stanley.

At his request no service will be held.  His cremains will be interred at Mountain View Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital through Herring Groseclose Funeral Home 315 W. Alder St. Walla Walla, WA 99362
