Wanda Gayle Mountain

Wanda G. Mountain, age 76, died in Walla Walla on November 3, 2024. She was born to Austin and Lois Mountain on February 27, 1948, in Walla Walla. Wanda also lived in Portland, OR; while attending school there, she graduated from David Douglass High School. She worked on the East Coast at Owens of Illinois for several years, setting up plants and managing employees. While working in that area, she attended Harvard University.

Wanda was an integral member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where she was a part of the auxiliary and served in each chair – she raised money for several years as Jimmy Durante Children’s Fund Chairman to give locally to children in our community. She was part of the drill team, traveling to many cities and states, and was captain for two or three years. Wanda was also a life member of the Elks Lodge and VFW.

Wanda is survived by her wife, Judi Robinson; cousin, Nancy Scott; niece, Amber Mountain Lyons; and one grandniece. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Crooks; father, Austin Mountain; brother, Edward Mountain; and uncle, Roger Mountain.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, at the Eagles Banquet Room, 350 S 2nd Ave, Walla Walla.

She will be missed by those who knew and loved her and her many friends.
