Victoria Louise von Bargen found peace Saturday April 6, after a courageous 3 ½ year battle with colon cancer. Anyone who knew her would describe her as one of the most selfless individuals ever born. Vicky always put everyone else’s well-being ahead of her own. Her shoulders were always available to lean on.
Victoria Greene began her life in Springfield, Mo. and her family followed her father’s career moves in the coal industry, attending many different schools during her childhood. In 1978, she took a bus to Walla Walla to visit an aunt and fell in love with the west where she would spend the rest of her life.
In 1979, she met Eric and they married in 1981. For the next 20 years, she followed Eric’s career throughout the Northwest. Jeff was born in 1983 and a few years later Vicky became a Certified Medical Assistant then eventually started her own medical transcription service company allowing her to work from home and be available to raise Jeff, always her priority. In 2001, Eric retired and they relocated to back to Walla Walla.
Vicky greatly enjoyed her hobbies of interior decorating, flower gardening, watercolor painting, photography and travel or just reading a great book in her hammock.
Vicky is survived by her husband Eric von Bargen in Walla Walla, her son, Jeff von Bargen-Walla Walla, Father-Fred O. Greene of Sebree, Ky. Brother-Larry Greene of Indianapolis, IN- Sister-Sheri Askins-Robards, KY. Preceded in death by Mother-Venita (Penny) Greene incidentally whose birthday is the same day as Vicky’s death and same age (59).
