Thomas Allan Jones

October 25, 1960 — November 26, 2014

Thomas “Tom” Alan Jones died in his home Wednesday, November 26, 2014, after a hard fought battle of 11 months with pancreatic cancer. However, the total time with pancreatic pain was 2 years.
Tom was born October 25, 1960, in Walla Walla, WA, to his parents John and Edith (Lamperti) Jones.

Tom worked at Walla Walla Glass and Birdseye. After attending electrician’s classes at Walla Walla Community College, he worked at Walla Walla Electric before transitioning to truck driving with Viking Freight placing in many state truck driving championships. He finished his career with Concrete Industries and was still employed by WADOT.

He met his wife Patricia on a blind date on April 11, 1991 and married her June 27, 1992. Together, they adopted their daughter, Jackie, on February 27, 2004 from Liberia, West Africa.

Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman, and thoroughly enjoyed trap-shooting, camping, and watching his favorite teams, the Mariners and Seahawks. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter, Jackie, which he loved sharing his favorite hobbies with her. He never missed one of Jackie’s sporting events unless he was too sick to attend. Tom spent every moment he could with her, teaching her his own particular sense of humor.

Tom is survived by his wife, Patricia Jones, of 22 years; daughter, Jackie Jones; sister, Carol (John) Borneman; nephew, Matt (Alisha) Borneman; parents, John and Edith Jones; Mary Bull, his mother-in-law and numerous other friends and family.
