Thomas Paul Cosgrove, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in College Place on Dec. 6, 2013. Tom was born on Dec. 30, 1930, in Lawrence, Kan., to William and Nellie Cosgrove.
In 1948 he graduated from St. Pat’s High School in Walla Walla. He married Geraldine Ann Kralman, from Walla Walla on Feb. 4, 1950. After graduating from high school, Tom worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for a short time. He then worked as an instrumentation tech at Shamrock Oil Company in Texas, Shell Oil Company in Anacortes, Wash., and at the nuclear plants in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Later, Tom became construction superintendent at numerous gas, oil, coal and nuclear power plants working for Bechtel and Ebasco. Tom retired to Sun Lakes, Ariz. He returned to Walla Walla after his wife passed away.
He was preceded by his wife “Gerry”; his parents, William and Nellie; his sisters, Helen, Margaret, Betty and Patty; his brother, Bill. Tom is survived by his daughter, Linda and son-on-law, Harold Jumago; his son, Robert and daughter-in-law, Audrey Cosgrove; brother, Bob and his wife, Patty Cosgrove; grandchildren, Kelly, Carrie, Phoebe, Katie and Bobbi; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may pay their respects at a graveside ceremony at Mountain View Cemetery on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice through Herring Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
