Susan Ann Partridge

Susan was born May 9, 1946, in St.Mary Hospital in Walla Walla to Angelo Michael Mele and Lucile Louise Clayter.
She attended St. Patrick’s Elementary and then graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1964. She obtained college credits towards her dream of a degree in business. She had a career as a restaurant hostess for than 20 years, most of those at Clarette’s.
Susan had three children with her first husband, Everett James Knudson. Jennifer Ann Knudson Fine (John), Gregory Michael Knudson (Christa), and Eric James Knudson (Krystal).
She married David James Partridge of Walla Walla, on July 18, 1992. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her siblings, Pamela Scammon and Steve Mele (Sally), her children, and six grandchildren: Matthew Pete Nelson, Katelynn Leanne Knudson, Samantha Paige Feinstein, Jacob Abraham Feinstein, Peyton Noel Knudson and Easton James Knudson.
Susan loved gardening, animals, riding in the hot rod with her husband David, and playing with her grandchildren. She also loved to shop, ride bikes and walk on the beach. She was an avid tennis player in her youth, and kept up with the times with her iPad while sipping her chai tea latte. She enjoyed soaking up the sun and the fresh air.
She was a beautiful lady with shining green eyes, yet could be a tomboy at the drop of a hat. She loved dressing up one day and switching to her camping gear and flip-flops the next.
Susan was a fiercely private person. She fought cancer with such dignity, grace and courage. She did not want to be a burden and lived to the end with a smile on her face and love for all those around her to the end. She wasn’t just a mom, she was a very cherished friend. Her family and friends will miss her dearly and will always carry her playfully mischievous spirit in their hearts. Her spirit will forever be a source of strength to all those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home 315 West Alder.
