Stephen Allen Casey

Steve was born in Walla Walla on August 8, 1953, to Jerry Casey and Mary Fisher. After attending school in Walla Walla, Steve joined the U.S. Navy serving on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga and the U.S.S. Kiska as a boiler tech. While home on leave, unbeknownst to him, he would share a 19¢ hamburger with the love of his life, spending the next 51 years side by side. Steve and Kathleen were married on November 29, 1975, sharing their love for nearly 47 years.

He became an electrician working for Roger Morris and Doyle Electric. Then went to work at the WSP, starting out as a Correctional Officer and working most of his 36 years as Head Stationary Engineer in the Power House.

The best of times was with his children, grandchildren, and Milo (his Old English Bulldog). He also loved family BBQs, fishing, and white water rafting. He was a loyal Seahawk fan and enjoyed watching the Mariners. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed by his family and friends.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Kathleen Casey, at home; daughter, Tana Casey of Walla Walla; sons, Brian Casey and Andrew Casey, both of Walla Walla; Sisters, Christina Fahey-Matias of Mabton, WA, Lisa Landsman of Kennewick, WA, Tina Thompson of Dayton, WA, and Dianna Pierce of Walla Walla; brothers, Tim (Elizabeth) Casey of Burbank, Jeff Springer of Tacoma, WA; grandchildren, Taegen Casey, Skylar Williams, Russell Casey, and Briar Casey; and numerous nieces and nephews. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Mary Casey.

Viewing and Visitation will be on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM, at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 10:30 AM, at the Chapel of Herring Funeral Home.
