Simona (Moreno) Coronado

Simona (Moreno) Coronado passed away on September 16, 2024, at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane WA, at the age of 94. Simona was born October 28, 1929, in Edinburg, Texas, to Jesus and Manuela Moreno.

Simona traveled with her family as a migrant worker, picking many different kinds of crops until she married and moved to Walla Walla WA, where she worked most of her years at Rogers Cannery until her retirement. Simona Loved gardening, sewing, knitting, and cooking for her family.

Simona was a beautiful soul who loved her family. She loved gardening and exchanging flower starts with her family. Simona tried to have as many roses as she could. Everyone she met became family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fortino Coronado; parents, Jesus and Manuela Moreno; siblings, Jose Moreno, Jesus Moreno, Manuel Moreno, Juliana Moreno, Herminia Shrum, Jovita Banda, Maria Pequeno, Olivia Trejo, San Juana Yzaquirre.

She is survived by daughters, Lilia Craig(Jeff) and Delia O’Connor(Sean); son, Felix Coronado (Jennifer); grandchildren, Sylvia Garcia, Justin Coronado, Jenalynn Mahoney, Ashley Nelson, Trevor Coronado, and Caitlin Kinchloe; great-grandchildren, Ariel Palomares, Alyssa Ramirez and numerous more; and siblings, Lupe Moreno, Alfredo Moreno, and Adelaida Moreno.

A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 6:00 PM, at the Chapel of the Herring Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Kevin Oiland, celebrant.
