Shirley Mae Chaney

On August 26, 2017 Shirley Mae Johnson Chaney went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born in Westwood, California one June 16, 1935 to Otto and Ruby Setak.

In 1953, Shirley married Eugene Hagler and they had a son, Robert Eugene; they later divorced.
On February 26, 1956 Shirley and James Wyatt Johnson were married and have two children, Rodney Wyatt Johnson and Kimberly Ann. Shirley and James were heavily involved in the horse community. Together they started the Pegasus Patrol 4-H club and enjoyed their “kids”. Jim left to be with his Heavenly Father February 12, 1975.

Shirley went to work as a security officer at Hanford and later as Correctional Officer at the Washington State Penitentiary. This is where she met and fell in love with Robert Chaney. She and Bob married June 30, 1998 . Shirley retired in 2000 . Together they enjoyed outdoor gardening and playing with their many animals.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert L. Chaney and her three children, Robert E. Johnson, Rodney W. Johnson and Kimberly A. Johnson-Deitchler. Her 5 grandchildren, Jenise Stephens, Nicole Gustafson, Eric Johnson, Chelsea Deitchler, Chance Johnson and many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank all of the ICU nurses and doctors at Sacred Heart Hospital for their compassionate care.
Viewing and Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 3:00PM till 7:00PM at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home with Reverend Ron Alexander officiating.

Interment will follow at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens in College Place, Washington.
