Shelley Dawn Abernathy

Shelley D. Abernathy passed into the hands of the Lord on November 7, 2011.

She was born June 22, 1964 in Escalon, California. Shelley resided in Portland, Oregon in a special care group home at the time of her death. Shelley was a very special person and her life touched and fascinated many people. She is loved by so many and will be missed. She is finally at peace.

She is survived by her mother, Donna Knopf Adams; stepfather, Steven E. Adams of Bremerton, Washington; brother, Derek Abernathy of Gresham, Oregon; numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Shelley was preceded in death by her father, David Abernathy; grandparents, Robert and Helen Knopf, and Ralph and Lucille Abernathy.

Viewing & visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Herring Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Morris officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary Regional Cancer Center through the funeral Home.
