Roselma June Walters

Born November 11, 1928, in Iron River, Michigan, to John and Margaret Hoinowski. She was the 12th of 14 children and the last surviving child.

She graduated from Iron River High School in 1946. Rose moved to Walla Walla in 1947 to be with her older sister Martina Jones. In 1948 she met and married the love of her life, Jackson Walters. They Operated Walters Upholstery Shop together for many years.
She later worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital as a Statistics Clerk.

Rose was an avid volunteer at the VFW and the Eagles Lodge. She was also a member of the Bee Hive Lodge and Rebecca Lodge, where dancing was the highlight of the evening.

She enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing and camping at the Langdon Lake cabin in Tolgate, were they had many enjoyable outings.

She is survived by three children-Reva Walters-Hall, DeeEtta “DeeDee” Clarke and Michael Freeman. She had four grandchildren- Heather Walters-Frisvold, Jason Walter and Jackson Clarke, and two great grandchildren Jayden and Kaylee Frisvold.

She was preceded in death by her 13 siblings, her son James H. Walters and grandson Richard Geist.

There will be a Celebration of Life held November 18, 2017 at the Marriott Hotel 1:00 PM-3:00 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Blue Mountain Humane Society or the Alzheimer’s Foundation through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home 315 W. Alder Walla Walla, WA.
