Rose Dublinski, of College Place, WA, died peacefully at home surrounded by her husband and children on December 21, 2023. She was 71 years old.
She was born Rose Ann Coster to Margaret and Charles Coster on May 17, 1952, in Moorhead, MN. She spent her early childhood on a farm outside of Fargo, ND. The home was a busy one with five girls. Over the course of Rose’s early childhood, the family moved to Seattle, WA, and Walla Walla, WA, and by the time Rose was in high school, they were back in Seattle. During high school at Rainier Beach High, she met her first husband. They were married in 1972 and settled in Seattle. They had two children: Christina, born in 1975, and Matthew, born in 1977. They had been married for 12 years. In 1984, Rose moved her children to the Walla Walla Valley and pursued a degree in Nursing. She graduated with her LPN in 1987. Later that year, she met and married the love of her life, Lawrence “Larry” Dublinski of Walla Walla. They made their home in Walla Walla, where Larry was the Director of Physical Rehabilitation Meditation and a Chief Physical Therapist at the VA Medical Center, while Rose was the Director of Medical Records, first at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center and later at Regency at the Park, both in Walla Walla. As time went on, they attended the graduations and weddings of their children, welcomed grandchildren, and enjoyed their life together. Their favorite thing was to vacation on the Oregon Coast, staying in the same hotel, often the same room, on each visit.
Rose enjoyed reading murder mysteries, watching history documentaries, crocheting, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Before her illness, she was an altar server at St. Francis Catholic Church and worked as a volunteer at Birthright.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Coster and Margaret Conner; a stepson, Eric Dublinski; and a nephew, Michael Jensen.
Rose is survived by her husband, Larry Dublinski of College Place; daughter, Christina (David) Aguilar of College Place; son, Matthew (Shell) Stephens of Walla Walla; sisters, Mary Jensen of College Place, Peggy Coster of San Francisco, CA, Kathy Coster of Walla Walla, Barbara Coster of Stanwood, WA and Lynne Perrson of Devon, AB, Canada. She is further survived by stepchildren Nancy Dublinski, Kathrine Dublinski, Fr. Steve Dublinski, Bonnie (Mike) Marsh, Thomas Dublinski, and Darlene (Chris) Johnson, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
