Rose Mary Arbini

Rose M. Arbini, 92, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at Cottage in the Meadow in Yakima.

Rose was born September 20, 1921 in Walla Walla, Washington to James & Patrina Ballachina Vinti. She attended Braden School and graduated with honors. On June 15, 1947, she married Joseph Arbini in Walla Walla. They lived & farmed on the Arbini family farm west of College Place. She was a longtime employee of Birds Eye & D&K Frozen Foods retiring after 26 years.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband to Italy, Mexico City, Hawaii, Canada & several places within the U.S. and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Altar Society, Italian Heritage Association where she & her sister, Mary Ruzicka, were parade Co-Marshal’s and the Walla Walla Senior Citizen’s Center where she came to be known as the “Waffle Lady.”

Survivors include a daughter, Carol (Doug) Huysman of Yakima; a son, David Arbini of Walla Walla; 2 grandchildren, Kimily Perrault of Yakima, Melanie (Ben) Harris of North Carolina; 4 great grandchildren, Haddie & Brayton Perrault and Benj & Harper Harris; sister, Mary Ruzicka & 2 sisters-in-law, Jacqueline & Eva Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; 3 sisters, Angie Locati, Vivian Castoldi, Virginia Vinti and 2 brothers, Ross & Frank Vinti.

Viewing & visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 11:00 AM until after the Rosary at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. The Rosary will be recited on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 6:00 PM also at the Herring Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM at St. Francis Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lillie Rice Center, St. Francis Catholic Church or to the Charity of the donor’s choice through the funeral home.
