Rosana Margaret Quaresma

Rosana Margaret (Mitchell) Quaresma, passed away Jan. 1, 2015, at Odd Fellows.

Rosana was born Dec. 30, 1919, in Bradshaw, Neb., to Chester and Laura (Glasser) Mitchell. She resided in Washington state since 1944. She graduated in 1942 from Bryan Memorial Nursing School in Lincoln, Neb., as a registered nurse. While in Lincoln she met her future husband, John Paul Quaresma, and married Aug. 13, 1944, in Walla Walla. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, Blue Mountain and Park Manor nursing homes.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Towns; sons, Tom and Jerry; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, John D. Quaresma; brothers, Robert Mitchell and Harold Mitchell. She was a member of Pioneer United Methodist Church.

Viewing at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home on Jan. 9, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside service will be at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens on Jan. 10, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, send contributions to Pioneer United Methodist Church or preferred charity through the funeral home.
