Ronald Dale Neissl was born Oct. 4,
1952, in Paris, Ark., to Harold and Norma
(Coleman) Neissl. He passed away
on Nov. 9, 2014, after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.
Ron attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in
Charleston, Ark., and graduated high school from
County Line.
As a young boy, he worked on VanMeter’s dairy farm,
rising early in the morning to feed and milk the cows.
He later married Patricia VanMeter the boss’s daughter.
They had two children – Brandi and Brian.
Ron also worked for Otasco hardware store in
Charleston, Ark. He was a ceiling installer, traveling
around the country with various jobs. He worked for
the Washington State Penitentiary as a correctional
officer until he had to leave due to his disability.
He was a member of the Arkansas Army National
Guard. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting
and fishing, loved country music and enjoyed
singing and playing his guitar. He frequently read
his Bible.
He is survived by his wife; children; two grandchildren,
Zen and Rain; four brothers; one sister; sistersin-
law; brother-in-law; step-father; numerous nieces;
nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins and many friends.
Rosary will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at 6
p.m. at the Herring-Groseclose Funeral Home. The
funeral will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church
on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014, at 2 p.m.
Donations may be made to the National Multiple
Sclerosis Society or Wounded Warrior Project through
the Herring-Groseclose Funeral Home.
