Robert D. Laufer

Robert (Bob) passed away at home on May 8, 2017. He was born to parents Henry and Edith Laufer. Bob attended Walla Walla schools and at age 17, joined the Navy. He served from 1949 - 1953, with an honorable discharge.

Bob married Joanne Richardson on February 26, 1960, and together had two children. Bob worked at Ben Hunt Mfg.,as metal fabricator until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, his daily walks, and having his family home for multiple celebrations and barbecues.

Bob is survived by his wife, Joanne; son, Robert D. Laufer Jr. (Tammie Vetter); daughter, Laurie Mathews; grandchildren, Timothy and Gerald Laufer, Eddie and Kristina Mathews; great-granddaughter, Taylre Vetter, all of Walla Walla; numerous nieces
and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard, Henry and Gerald Laufer; sister, Barbra Fanciullo; grandson, Josh Vetter.

Viewing will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his
