Robert (Rob) James Alexander

August 24, 1953 — February 12, 2023

Walla Walla

Rob died at his home on February 12, 2023, surrounded by his family and long-term companion, Debbie.

Rob was born August 24, 1953, in Walla Walla to Doris and James Alexander. He was the fourth child of five. Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and James, and his sister, Judy. He is survived by his brother, Ronald(Carole) of Walla Walla; brother, Richard of Bothel; sister, Janet(Larnie) of Walla Walla; and his special friend and companion of 10 years, Debbie Mobley.

Rob has several nieces and nephews: nephew Travis (Kimmie), nephew Corbyn, niece Tessa, niece Kyla (Karl), niece Jillian, and many cousins. We would also like to mention two young men Rob has known since they were very young. They called him grandpa— Jacob and Hunter, who live in the Seattle area.

After graduation, Rob moved to the west side, where he lived and worked as a laborer and finished in the Plasterers Union. He moved back to Walla Walla after retirement and remained until his death.

Rob loved the water. He was an expert at rafting and kayaking. He worked as a guide with Swiftwater for a while and loved going on river trips with his good friend Jeff Lynn, Beryl Martin, and others.

Most recently, he and his cousin Gary bought Harley Davidson trikes. They enjoyed going on rides with their partners, Mary and Debbie.

Their nephew Travis works for Nascar, and of course, the Alexander brothers were all Nascar enthusiasts. Rob's favorite driver was Chase Elliott. He and his brothers made their bets each week on who would win the race.

Rob was always willing to help. He was a member of the WW Rural Fire Dist 4 auxiliary, helping with projects. He had a green thumb and loved birdwatching.
