College Place

Robert Earl Harvey (Bob) was born in Ontario, OR, on January 3, 1956, to Charles and Lois Harvey. He moved with his parents when he was three years old to Walla Walla, where they purchased a farm. While in Hermiston, Bob traveled to Walla Walla each Saturday with his parents (who still owned a beauty salon in Walla Walla) to bowl in a youth bowling league, where he gained what would grow into his early passion. After three years in Hermiston, the Harvey family moved back to Walla Walla, and Bob attended Garrison and WA-HI. Bob became proficient at bowling 300 games early on, including an 875 series in the American Bowling Congress Hall of Fame. Next, Bob attended his father's Beauty School - Mr. Charles College of Beauty. He worked at the Mode Beauty Salon before going to work for Jhirmack Professional Products for Jerry Redding, doing styling and product shows. Robert then went on to become a professional truck driver for Systems Transport, where he specialized in hauling boats and later hauling windmill blades.

Bob enjoyed the camaraderie with the other drivers and his travel agent (dispatcher) and barbecuing while picking up and delivering the blades. Bob was an avid Seahawk fan and enjoyed going to games and watching the Seahawks with friends. He went to great lengths painting his home in Seahawk colors and added Seahawk graphics to all his vehicles.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Charles; mother, Lois; and sister Carol Anne. He is survived by his brother, Steve and wife Janice, biological daughter, Ambrea Heimgartner, multiple nieces and nephews, and special friends, Thomas, Katie, and Max Hawley, along with a plethora of friends who he always considered family.

The service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 1:00 PM, at the Blue Mountain Community Church.

The family would like memorial contributions made to the American Heart Association or the Youth Bowling Association of Walla Walla through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W.
