Rickie Joe Magnaghi

Rickie (Rick) Joe Magnaghi of Walla Walla passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2025, surrounded by his family at the age of 73.

Rick was born on July 24, 1952, to Frank and Shirley (Davee) Magnaghi in Walla Walla. He was the oldest of eleven and worked on the family onion farm growing up. He graduated from DeSales High School in 1971. After graduating, he enlisted in the US Coast Guard and served for 4 years. After his service, he returned to Walla Walla, where he held several different jobs until he was hired by the US Postal Service as a letter carrier in 1986. In 1982, he met Kristi at the Ice Burg and later married in 1983. They were blessed with two daughters, Alyce and Mary, and later divorced. He met and married Joyce Richards in 1993. They were happily married for 32 years before Joyce passed away in May of 2025.

Rick had a lifelong passion for baseball, softball, camping, and fishing. He also played golf, bowled, went gold mining, and did rockhounding. He loved going to watch the grandkids’ sporting events as well as his nieces and nephews’. He loved the outdoors and taking his daughters camping and rafting. He was also an active member at St Francis Parish in Walla Walla.

Rick is survived by his two daughters, Alyce (Andrew) and Mary (Cody), and five grandchildren – Kaden, Audrey, Lyle, Logan, and Nolan, he is also survived by his siblings – Bryon (Jean), Kathi (Mark), Frank (Alyson), Karen (John), Karla (Steve), Becky (Aron), Rosalie (John), Scott, Kevin (Christina), and his sister-in-law, Patti, as well as his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Shirley Magnaghi; his brother, Doug Magnaghi; his sister-in-law, Melinda Magnaghi; and his late wife, Joyce.

The rosary will be held on October 12, 2025, at 5:00 PM, and the memorial mass will be held on October 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM, both at St. Francis Catholic Church in Walla Walla.
