Richard Ellis Gowey

Richard Ellis Gowey passed away June 14, 2018, at age 96, at Regency at the Park. Richard was born July 31, 1921, in Summerville, OR, to Homer and Eva Gowey.

He married Jacqueline Mote, December 21, 1941, in Minden, NV.  They were married 52 years.  Richard served two years in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II.  He was a retired truck driver from Sites Silverwheel, Pendleton, OR.  He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved flowers and had a beautiful iris garden.

He is survived by his two daughters, Rebecca Mize, of Walla Walla, and Nola (Bob) Curry, of Edmonds, WA; Son-in-law, Kenneth Proctor, of Vancouver, WA; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline and daughter Diana Proctor.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, followed by a private family graveside service at Olney Cemetery, Pendleton, OR.
