It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, Ricardo Rios Flores, 78, after a courageous battle with cancer. In his final moments, he was surrounded by his family, held in love and peace.
Ricardo was born to Miguel and Consuelo Rios Flores in Jalpa, Zacatecas, Mexico. He met his wife, Rosa Maria, in Jalpa, where they married in April 1976, and later moved to the United States. He was a proud agricultural worker, following the harvest across states before establishing himself and his family in 1980 in Walla Walla, WA. Ricardo devoted his life to hard work until his final days, always providing for his family.
Ricardo was a devoted father, a pillar of strength, and a source of deep compassion. He was close to his family and happiest with his 13 grandchildren. He lived with quiet dignity, strong Catholic values, and empathy towards others. Whether through his work, his laughter, or the wisdom he shared in everyday moments, Ricardo touched the lives of many.
He is survived by his children, Enrique, Araceli, Michelle, and Lorena Rios, who will carry on his legacy of resilience and love. He is remembered by extended family, dear friends, and those fortunate to have known him.
The Rosary will be held at the Chapel of the Herring Funeral Home on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Providence St. Mary's staff, who gave their all with unwavering care, empathy, and compassion over the past few months.
