Patricia Ann "Pat" Riddle passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, at the Washington Odd Fellows Home in Walla Walla, WA. She was born July 28, 1931, to Helen and Chester Kimball. Her father's work shaped Pat's early years -- the family moved from Cascade to McCall, Idaho, and later during the war to Stibnite, Idaho, a bustling mining town. They eventually settled in Mountain Home, Idaho, where Pat graduated from high school and married Norman Riddle that same year -- in her parents' backyard. After the birth of their first two sons, Michael and Doug, the family moved to Grangemont in northern Idaho, where Norm drove logging trucks. Soon after, they opened and operated a saw shop -- later relocating to Lewiston, where they launched Lewiston Saw and Cycle, which became one of the first Honda dealerships in the continental U.S. -- renamed Lewiston Cycle. During this time, they welcomed two more children: Marty and Becky, and later, Leslie -- their surprise bonus child.
Pat eventually took full ownership of Lewiston Cycle Center, while Norm pursued his passion for jet boat manufacturing. After divorcing, Pat sold the business but stayed on as Parts Manager for several years before transitioning to the parts department at Hoff Ford. Seeking a change, she moved to Walla Walla, where she worked in parts sales at Teague Motor Company until her retirement. Pat knew more about motorcycles, cars, and boats than most — and was deeply respected and loved by customers and coworkers alike. After retiring, she spent her days surrounded by her great-grandchildren and her "gal pals" on Sundays. A fabulous cook, she loved to entertain, care for family and friends -- and anyone who happened to drop by. Her home was always open to those in need. She was "Mom" to all of her kids' friends -- even taking some in to stay when they needed a safe, warm place. Before moving to the Odd Fellows Home, Pat spent 13 years living with and in the loving care of her daughter, Leslie, and son-in-law, Chuck. She cherished those years — sitting in the sun, watching birds and squirrels, and hosting sweet tea parties with her great-granddaughter, Ella. An avid reader and wonderful conversationalist, Pat had a gift for making people feel welcome, heard, and cherished. She was humble, never negative, and met life's challenges with quiet strength and grace.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Chester Kimball; her brother, Robert C. Kimball; and her sister-in-law, Mary Kimball. She is survived by a brother, William Kimball, and a sister-in-law, Barbara; and by her children: Michael Riddle (Nicki), Doug Riddle (Mary Lou), Marty Riddle, Becky Fagan (Barry), and Leslie Jausoro (Chuck). She leaves behind nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Pat's life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 1:30 PM at the Chapel of the Herring Funeral Home, 315 W Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
