Patricia Ann Rohde, 85, of Walla Walla, passed away on Dec. 13, 2013, at Providence St. Mary’s Medical Center.
She was born in Oshkosh, Wisc. on Jan. 18, 1928, to Grace and Cliff Paulson. She attended Miss Wood’s Normal School and she graduated from Macalester College with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She married Willard Rohde on Jan. 23, 1954, and they lived in Walla Walla.
Patricia was a kindergarten teacher for over thirty years before retiring in 1992. She adored small children and loved teaching them songs and making crafts with them. She delighted in the silly and often hilarious stories her students told.
Patricia loved painting and making all kinds of crafts. She participated in painting groups throughout all of her retirement and was fond of turning her paintings into cards she could send to loved ones.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Chapman Paulson; her sister, Joyce “Dee” Paulson; her husband, Willard Rohde; and her daughter, Christie Gross. She is survived by her son, Ross Rohde. She is also survived by five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Children of Grace through the Herring-Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla WA 99362. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, in Wagner Chapel at Wheatland Village with Mark Koonz of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and Chaplain Steve Cromwell of Wheatland Village officiating.
