Pamela Durban Stillwell Jarboe, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2017.
She is survived by two children, Mary and Bill; two grandsons, and a great-granddaughter. She was born in 1921 in Leeds, England, attended art school in her youth, and was a nurse with the British Red Cross during World War II in Africa and India. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Nottingham University in 1950, she married James Jarboe and moved to Seattle. After her husband died in 1985, she took a job running the post office at Whitman College. She was opinionated, energetic, and a good friend to many people throughout her life. She will be missed.
There will be a memorial service on March 4, 2017,
at 4 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
