Pamela Marie Gisi, 67, of Walla Walla, Washington, passed away on February 23, 2026.
Pam was born on September 7, 1958, in Fargo, North Dakota, to Michael and Carolyn Gisi. She graduated from Ellensburg High School in 1976 and went on to attend Seattle University, where she earned her nursing degree with honors in 1980. Pam dedicated many years to her career as an emergency room nurse at Virginia Mason Hospital, where her skill, compassion, and steady presence touched countless lives. Committed to lifelong learning, she later earned her MBA in 1989 and pursued numerous nursing certifications, as well as additional studies in medical billing.
Pam had a deep love for travel and adventure, visiting destinations such as Scotland, Mexico, and Belize. She developed a special connection to Belize and eventually made her home on San Pedro Island for several years. During her time there, she combined her practical skills and creativity by assisting local businesses with bookkeeping. She also earned her Dive Master Scuba Certification and filmed underwater scuba videos for visitors.
She later lived in Slidell, Louisiana, near New Orleans, before returning to Washington State in 2008 to be closer to her family. In Walla Walla, Pam continued her passion for nursing by teaching as an instructor at Walla Walla Community College, guiding and mentoring future nurses during their clinical training at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Pam found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, working on puzzles, cooking, and spending time with her beloved dog, Mr. Chips. She was also deeply committed to continuing education and personal growth throughout her life.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Carolyn Gisi. She is survived by her brother, Dennis Gisi (Christine); her nieces, Michelle Shafer (Eric) and Kathryn Stangel (Eric); her nephews, Douglas Gisi (Jessi) and Robert Gisi (Sandra); and her many grandnieces and nephews, who lovingly called her “Tia.”
Pam will be remembered for her intelligence, independence, sense of adventure, and the care and kindness she extended to others both personally and professionally.
