Walla Walla

78 Years Young

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Pam Bond. This unexpected tragic event occurred when Pam was hospitalized for treatment of a cardiac condition. Pam was surrounded by her family when she passed.

Pam was born in Wenatchee, WA to Leo and Vivian Lippincott and grew up in Chelan, WA. Throughout her life she was extremely close to her younger brother Pat Lippincott. Pam graduated from Chelan High School where she was, not to anyone's surprise, a cheerleader and homecoming queen. She married her high school sweetheart Andy Mattson and they had two children, Chris and Tonyel. Pam & Andy attended Central Washington College where she met her lifelong friend, Donna Jerns. In 1970 Pam and family moved to Walla Walla where she began working at Baker Boyer Bank, a career that lasted 34 years. She developed many friendships there that have lasted to this day. She and Andy separated and a few years later she met and married Gary Brown. She was happy to add his two children, Jeanette and David to the family. Following their separation, she and Donna traveled the US and internationally together for several years. In 2003, she met her husband, Bruce. They were married in 2004 and began a joyous life together with family, friends, world travel and RVing. She loved to motorhome and went on as many trips as possible. Bruce and Pam joined RV clubs where they met many wonderful friends.

Pam was an active member of the Walla Walla Kiwanis club for 37 years in addition to several other charitable organizations throughout her life.

For Pam, life was a huge party. Her family and friends basked in her glow. She was a driving force in all our lives. She loved to garden, craft, and to decorate. Our home was featured in the Hospice Pond and Garden Tour four times. Pam loved to entertain and share their home with more people than can be remembered. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce, daughter Tonyel and husband Matthew and granddaughter Gracie Nelson; her brother Patrick and his wife Linda Lippincott; stepchildren Jeanette (Aaron) Hammond and David Brown and their families; best friend Donna (Nick) Jerns, and goddaughters Kristen (Todd) Carden, Jodi (Matt) Warshaw, and Shelly (Kevin) Clark.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her son Christopher.

At her request, there will be no service, but instead a celebration of life (Party) will be held in the spring.

Memorial contributions can be directed to Walla Walla Community Hospice in her honor.
