Norma Evone Leisle

Norma Erickson Leisle passed away on July 3, 2015 with her devoted husband by her side.  In addition to her four daughters, she excelled at collecting people that thought of her as “Mom.”  She was always there to give the right advice and unconditional love at the right time.  She loved to cook and share recipes and be there for her family.  With the help of her loving husband Jerry, she made a work of art out of their back yard with her abundant beautiful flowers, herbs, and fruits.  She was a master at making a house into a home.  She loved animals and her dogs Briar, Chopper, and Tina, and cats, Bud and Belle will miss her terribly.

She was born in Egeland, North Dakota in 1938.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and two very close and special family members; her brother Verdie and her grandson Tyler, as well as her dear friend, Kathleen Walker.

She is survived by her soul mate and love of her life, Jerry Leisle, sisters, Betty Neameyer (Kenneth), and Gloria Fix (James); daughters, JoVayne Cappa (Pete), Kristi Strickland ( Mike), Dulci Jensen (Tony) and Jodi Purdy (Drew); stepchildren, Jamey Leisle (Denise), Toni Lancaster (Joshua), Elizabeth Ytuarte; grandchildren, Trevor Helmer, Cody Horan, Afton Klode (Charlie), James Purdy (Amanda), Tucker Jensen, Jordan Purdy, Dimitri Fahey, Elizabeth Strickland, Samantha Jensen, Jessica Purdy, Bailee Jensen, Austin Jensen, Dustin Leisle, Keilsee Leisle, and Carlos Echols; great grandchildren Carter and Addelyn Klode.

There will be a private celebration of her life instead of a funeral service.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Blue Mountain Humane Society in her name through the Herring Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
