Norma Nell Ellis

January 20, 1933 — July 25, 2013

Norma Nell Ellis, 80, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2013 at the Odd Fellows Home with her family present. She was a resident of Walla Walla for 50 years, coming here to help open Smitty's Pancake House, (now Clarette's) and ran the kitchen there until her retirement 18 years ago.

Norma was born in Asher, OK on Jan. 20, 1933 to Claby and Nellie Felton. She had five brothers and two sisters, all now deceased. She married Floyd Ellis Nov. 4, 1953. Her first child, Norma Lou, was born in 1956, and Albert was born in 1966. She and Floyd divorced in 1972, and she never remarried. She devoted her life to her children and sacrificed mightily for them, and then for her three grandchildren. She loved sewing, woodworking, painting, and kept busy with Bible studies after retirement.

She is survived by two children, Norma Terry and Albert Ellis of Walla Walla, son-in-law, Ed Terry; and grandchildren, Kye Terry of Everett, WA, Bailee Walters and her husband, Robert of Yakima, WA, Ashlee Ellis of Touchet, WA, three step grandchildren; five nieces, three nephews, and sister-in-law, Pat Felton of OK.

The Funeral Service will be held at New Beginnings Chapel, 822 W Main in Walla Walla on Wed. July 31, 2013 at 10:00 AM with a lunch provided afterward. Burial will be private at Mtn. View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Connections International through the funeral home.
