Norma graduated from Waitsburg High School in 1961. She attended beauty school and worked as a beautician until she retired in 1996.
She is survived by her husband, Delbert Chapman, of 61 years; two children, Dorene Schmitt (Larry Schmitt) and David Chapman (Pam Chapman); four grandchildren, Jessika Bannerman (Nathan Bannerman), Adriene Russell (Taryn Russell), Addie Greer (Nick Greer), and Brett Turner; three great-grandchildren, David Barnhart, Jason Barnhart, and Lyndis Bannerman. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Anderson, and her mother, Virginia McFarland Anderson.
Norma enjoyed reading, crocheting, and making blankets for family and friends. She also enjoyed camping and their cabin in the Blue Mountains. She loved cooking, going for rides, and looking for deer and elk while spending time at the cabin. She played BINGO at the Eagles in Walla Walla and looked forward to going each week. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to Wild Horse Casino.
A private family memorial will be held on June 20, 2026.
