Neva Cook

June 25, 1928 — April 29, 2014

Neva was born in Chandler, Okla., to Jacob and Mary Edwards. Neva had five siblings, Charlie, Mary, Alma, Harvey and Bernice (Tootsie). They moved to Hermiston in 1935 when she was a young child.

There are two surviving sisters, Mary Daniels of Pendleton, and Bernice (Tootsie) Kerr of Montague, Calif.

She married Paul Cook on Nov. 2, 1942, in Lewiston. They had five children during their marriage; the three surviving children are Jack of Yucaipa, Calif., Dennis of San Jacinto, Calif., and Patty of Dixie. Neva was preceded in death by their beloved sons,
David Cook in 2007 and Terry Cook in 1943.

She was an active member in the Dixie Christian Church for many years. She loved her church family and is now being welcomed into Jesus’ loving arms. She was also a volunteer and enjoyed being a member at the Rebekah Lodge.

During Paul’s and Neva’s retirement they enjoyed traveling to Florida and Blythe, Calif., during the winter months. She loved to take care of her family and enjoyed her 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

All are invited to attend the memorial service on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Dixie, 66 S. Actor St., Dixie. There will be a family graveside service at the Dixie Cemetery on Monday, May 5, 2014, at 1 p.m.
