Mildred E. Martuscelli, 87, of College Place, passed away on April 19, 2012 at Regency at the Park.
Mildred Waldron Martuscelli was born on May 10, 1924 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Edna & Leslie Waldron Brott.
While working as a secretary at Camp Roberts, California is where she met her husband, Charles Martuscelli, of 60 years.
Mildred was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She donated her time and talent by sewing & crocheting items for raffle at the church fund raisers. Mildred was a dedicated, loving wife and mother of her 6 children. Her talents included sewing for family & friends, gardening along side her husband, baking, crocheting and giving generously of her time to friends and neighbors in time of need.
Once Mildred’s children were grown with families of their own, she continued to help raise her grandchildren and work in the community at St. Mary Medical Center, Valley Vision, Tallman’s Drug and the Allergy Asthma Clinic of Walla Walla.
During her later years in life at the nursing home, she continued to create fleece-tie blankets that she donated to the Domestic Violence organizations.
Mildred is survived by her 6 daughters & sons-in-law, Sandra Martuscelli of Wallula, WA, Rosalie & John Lammers of Walla Walla, Janet & Dave Hathaway of Rockford, WA, Frances & Don Barnett of Pendleton, OR, Sherry Lieferman of Walla Walla, WA & Charleen & Darin Campbell of Richland, WA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren & great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Martuscelli & 1 brother, Charles Brott.
Viewing & visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 11:00 AM until after the Rosary at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. The Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 6:00 PM also at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home with Sister Helen Mason officiating. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 1:00 PM at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Tyler Smedley, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at the Garden Mausoleum at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice through the funeral home.
