Mike Wayne Craig

Mike W. Craig, life-long resident of Walla Walla, passed away on Nov. 28, 2012 at Providence St. Mary Medical Center at the age of 66.

Mike Wayne Craig was born on June 25, 1946, the son of Harold Albert Craig and LaVada Eileen Wingert Craig in Walla Walla, WA. He was number four of eight children, five sisters and two brothers. Rosalie Lommasson, David Craig, Lee Craig, Cindy Harrington, Sue Robins, Tina Karmout and April Sherwood. He was married to Tina Martin and had one son, Jeff Craig.

He graduated from Wa-Hi in 1965 while working for the school district at night. He became a journeyman plumber in 1974 working for Don Johnson. Later he owned/operated Craig and Son Plumbing until 1990, taking a position in the Engineer Department at WSP Department of Corrections where he retired in 2008. This allowed him to spend more time with his son and help others full time.

Survivors include Jeff and Lillia Craig of Walla Walla; granddaughter, Sylvia Garcia, great-grandson Arie’l Palomares, great-granddaughter Alyssa Ramirez of Seattle, WA., siblings, Rosalie, husband Don Lommasson of Okanogan, WA., David, wife Gloria Craig of Camas, WA., Cindy Harrington-Boyd, husband Nick Boyd of Kennewick, WA., Sue, husband Mark Robins of Great Falls, MT., Tina, husband Phillip Karmout of Houston, TX., April Sherwood of Richland, WA., numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and more friends than can be counted. His parents, Harold and LaVada, brother, Lee and nephews, Kenney, Kevin, and Kevin James Craig preceded him in death.

Viewing & visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 1:00 pm also at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home with his brother-in-law, Don Lommasson officiating. Concluding services & internment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center or Walla Walla Community Hospice through the funeral home.
