Michael Frederick Givens

Michael Frederick Givens, age 67, of Walla Walla, died unexpectedly at Providence St. Mary Medical Center on Friday, February 24, 2023. Mike was born in Walla Walla on July 6, 1955, to Robert (Red) L. and Zoma B. Givens. He attended Edison Elementary, Pioneer Junior High, and Walla Walla High School, graduating in 1974.

Upon graduation, Mike worked for his dad at Red Givens Volkswagen-Audi as title clerk until the sale of the business in 1982. He then went to work for Baker Boyer Bank as a courier, where he was employed until poor health required him to retire.

Mike was socially gregarious; he loved to visit with friends and family whenever possible. He was also a voracious reader, interested particularly in American and Presidential histories. Mike was a beloved and active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, where his love for people and his love for books became the impetus for a church library project currently underway. In short, Mike's love for Christ was easily seen in his kindness and concern for so many.

Mike was proceeded in death by his mother, his father, and his nephew, Dan (Lee) Givens, Jr. He is survived by his brother, Dan, Sr., his sister-in-law, Linda Givens, and his nephew Kevin Givens, and his wife, Carrie. Mike would want to acknowledge the very special care and daily assistance of Isabelle Adams and O'brian Kern.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 66 S. Palouse St, Walla Walla, WA 99362. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
