On Feb. 6, 2016, Mia “Snookey” Cheyenne-Tanae Powell, passed away leaving this world too soon. Born on March 23, 1999, in Walla Walla, she was a junior at Walla Walla High School. She attended Noah’s Ark Preschool and In-Home Day Care, Blue Ridge Elementary School and Garrison Middle School. Mia was employed parttime at Park Plaza.
Mia is survived by her parents, James and Tobi Powell; her brother, Storm Powell; her sister, River Powell; her maternal grandmother, Porchia Alston of Stantonsburg, N.C.; her maternal grandfather, Henry Sherrod of New York, N.Y.; her paternal grandmother, Susan Bosch of Idaho; her paternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Randy and Diane Powell of Lindsay, Okla.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at Pioneer United Methodist Church. Pastor Chuck Hindman will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mia Cheyenne-Tanae Powell Memorial Fund or a Suicide Prevention Foundation of the donor’s choice through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder St., Walla Walla, WA 99362.
