Megan Kathleen Maiuri

Megan K. (Loy) Maiuri passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her home in Milton Freewater, Oregon the morning of March 12, 2013 after a brief but strong fight against cancer.

Megan was born on October 15, 1970 to Thomas and Mary Potterf Loy in Enumclaw, Washington. On May 30, 1992, she married her best friend, Jay Maiuri in Walla Walla, Washington. She loved bright colors, good food and travel. Most importantly, she loved her family and friends and nothing mattered more.

Megan is survived by her husband of almost 21 years, Jay Maiuri and their two daughters, Breanna Maiuri and Lindsey Maiuri; her step-mother, Deborah Loy and her two older brothers, Greg Loy and Michael Loy. Preceding her in death were her father and mother Thomas and Mary Loy.

The Rosary will be recited on Friday March 15, 2013 at 7:00 pm at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA with Sister Helen Mason officiating. The Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday March 16, 2013 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Jeff Core, Celebrant. A celebration of life will follow at the activity center of St. Francis Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Megan Kathleen Maiuri Memorial Fund, St. Mary Regional Cancer Center, Walla Walla Community Hospice or Walla Walla Catholic Charities through the funeral home.
