Matthew Jacob Nicholson, 18, from Walla Walla, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla.

Matthew Nicholson was born in Walla Walla to Frank and Dawn Nicholson on December 20, 1999.  He went to school at Walla Walla public schools, to include Prospect Point, Garrison Middle School, WW High School and Lincoln High School

Matthew loved hunting, fishing, archery and skiing.  He loved the Blue Mountains and got his first Elk near Bluewood.  He also loved pheasant hunting with his bird dog Ellie.  Attended Walla Walla Presbyterian Church for many years and was a member of Pheasants Forever and Blue Mountain Archers.

Matthew is survived by sister, Megan Nicholson; dad, Frank Nicholson; mother, Dawn Nicholson; aunt, Sherry Buss; aunt, Halina Nicholson; grandfather, Jay Buss; cousin, Renee Nicholson.

Funeral and a Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 29, 2018, at Mountain View Cemetery with Pastor Jim Snyder of the Blue Mountain Community Church, officiating. A reception at Blue Mountain Community Church celebrating Matthew’s life will be held after the graveside service.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Blue Mountain Chapter #258 Pheasants Forever through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla.

The family of Matthew wishes to extend our sincere thanks everyone one who helped Matthew on his life’s journey.
