Matthew Nicholas Minzghor

Matthew Nicholas Minzghor, Jr. of Walla Walla passed away December 6, 2011 at Milton Freewater Health & Rehabilitation Center at the age of 70.

Viewing & visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Matthew Nicholas Minzghor Jr. Memorial Fund through the funeral home.

Matthew Minzghor was born on March 20, 1941 in Cass Lake, Minnesota. He was the son Matthew N. Minzghor Sr. & Edwina Brown Minzghor. Matthew married Karen McClanahan but later divorced. They had two children, Teresa Austin & Nick Minzghor.

Matt enjoyed the outdoors and especially landscaping and fishing. Other interests were playing pool, card games and listening to country music.

He is survived by his former wife, Karen Minzghor of Walla Walla; his daughter & son-in-law, Teresa & Todd Austin of Waitsburg; son, Nick Minzghor of Walla Walla; 4 grandchildren, Cody & Alexis Austin, Mike Marvin & Kadeshia Minzghor; 5 sisters & brothers-in-law, Elaine & Gilbert Cunningham of Walla Walla, Edith & Ed Kienolz of Waverly, MN, Ester Haderlie of Salt Lake City, UT, Eileene & Roy Barkley of Cottonwood, AZ & Evelyn Mabey of Logan, UT; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. Matt was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew & Edwina Minzghor Sr.; 2 brothers, Kenneth & Harry Minzghor & 1 niece, Brenda Cunningham.
