Mary Frances Dill

Mary Frances Dill (McAllister), 91, passed away at her home in Walla Walla on Thursday, May 3, 2012. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 15 at Mountain View Cemetery of Walla Walla.

Born December 6, 1920 to James and Anna McAllister in Walla Walla, she attended St. Patrick’s schools, graduating in 1938. She completed one year of nurses training at St. Mary Hospital School of Nursing (Walla Walla). She then married Roy William Dill on November 20, 1939. In the late 1940’s, they moved to Bellevue WA and operated a dairy farm known today as Kelsey Creek Park. In 1950 they purchased a home with 5 acres in Issaquah WA. Mary Frances spent many years as a Cub Scout and Camp Fire Girls leader, church volunteer, school librarian, a helpful neighbor, and a loving mother to her five children. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, puzzles, cooking and hosting holiday events for her family. After celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, Mary Frances and her husband Roy moved back to Walla Walla in 1990.

She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, her husband of 54 years, and infant son Frederick. She is survived by her son Tom Dill (Beatrice) of Bellevue WA, daughter Patty Anne Shiley of Walla Walla WA, son Terry Dill (Mary) of Auburn WA, daughter Mary Lynn Dill of Santa Barbara CA, and daughter Cathy Bussell (Art) of Pasco WA. Also, brother Patrick McAllister (Shirley) of Roswell NM, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
