Mary G. Bundy, 69, of Walla Walla passed to her eternal reward, surrounded by friends and church family, on August 30, 2025. She was born February 3, 1956, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to John Walter Bundy Jr. and Marjorie Elizabeth Murphy Bundy.
Her parents moved back to Tennessee when Mary was three, and then to Washington State when she was six. For most of that time, and until their deaths, her maternal grandmother lived with them and her paternal grandmother lived next door. Growing up, she was active in the Mill Creek Wranglers 4H Club. She graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1974 and attended Concordia College in Portland, Oregon.
In 1976, she began working as the secretary at (First) Walla Walla Presbyterian Church, where she was also a member. She continued working there for 45 years, until her retirement in 2021. In 2024, she was given the honorary title of Church Secretary and Administrative Assistant Emerita.
Mary enjoyed horseback riding, reading, gardening and walking her dogs. She played flute in the Walla Walla Symphony and in the pit orchestra for several summer musicals at Fort Walla Walla Amphitheater. She sang in the church choir and for Walla Walla Choral Society, traveling with the group to New York for their concert at Carnegie Hall. She also made a trip to the Holy Lands, participated in a Rotary exchange trip to England, and volunteered for a short-term mission trip to the interior of Brazil.
Mary was preceded in death by her father in 2003 and mother in 2015.
