Mary Bull of College Place, Washington, 91, passed away at Eagle Springs Memory Care with her children near her bedside on March 28, 2019.
Mary was born in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada to Frank and Bridgette Fogwill. After graduating, she worked for the St. Johns Park and Recreation Department. She later took a job at the Earnest Harmon U.S. Air Force Base, where she met her husband, Charles Bull. They were married on September 12, 1952. After her husband, Charles, retired from the Air Force in 1967, the family settled in the Walla Walla Valley.
Mary worked for the Walla Walla School District until her retirement in December 1987. She stayed physically active. She taught ice skating and pre-hocky to generations of children. She also enjoyed water skiing, snowmobiling, and had her certification in scuba diving. After retirement she volunteered with Dress a Living Doll and Meals on Wheels.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Anna Peters and Patricia Jones of Walla Walla; Wanda Bull of Springfield, Oregon; son, Charles Bull of College Place; grandchildren, Christopher Atkinson and Jackie Jones; and great-granddaughter Nadia Atkinson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bull and son-in-law, Tom Jones.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 6:00 PM at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home
Mary’s children would like to thank the staff of Eagle Springs Memory Care and Walla Walla Community Hospice. Additionally, they would like to thank the staff of Plaza Safeway and Plaza Baker Boyer Bank for all the kindness and patience they showed to our mother over the years.
