Marvin James Graham

Born August 20, 1939, to Ike and Inez Graham in Ava, Mo.

He passed away September 3, 2023, at the Walla Walla Veterans Home with his daughter at his side.

He had three siblings: Betty Clayton (Max), Nola Casey (Raymond), Butch Graham (Gayle)

The family moved to Selah, WA, where he graduated from Selah High.

Marvin served in the Navy from 1958-1962 along with his brother, Butch, who was 11 months younger. He was a machinist on the USS Coral Sea.

He married Martha Wickersham, and they had a daughter, Diana, in 1963; they later divorced.

Marvin later married the love of his life, Joyce Arthur, on April 5, 1969. They made their home in Pasco, WA, where he received his Associate's degree in business from CBC. Marvin worked as an assistant manager at Sears until his retirement at age 55 due to health issues. He then drove school bus part-time, always having a bag of candy bars for the little kids that he enjoyed so much.

After retirement, he and Joyce would snowbird every year to Yuma, AZ. They met many wonderful friends and enjoyed playing Pokeno and Bingo. They enjoyed going to Los Algodones, Mexico, where they would find many treasures to bring home.

Marvin is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, in 2022, two sisters, one brother, and his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Diana Packard (Les) - Walla Walla, WA; grandsons, Adam Edwards (Kelsay) and Travis Nakonieczny (Megan) - Walla Walla, WA; great-grandchildren, Jayden Edwards and Tatym, Jace, and Anastasia Nakonieczny.

Graveside service will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens.
