Marjorie “Midge” Forest Dyer, 98, passed away February 13, 2017, at the Washington Odd Fellows Home in Walla Walla. She was born on September 24, 1918, to parents Selena and Edgar Forest in Pendleton. She attended school in Adams, and graduated from high school at St. Vincent’s Academy in Walla Walla in 1936.

She married Robert C. Dyer on July 24, 1942, in Walla Walla where they spent their married life. Midge was employed for many Walla Walla firms, ending her employment with the Farm Credit Services. She belonged to Assumption Catholic Church, Walla Walla Senior Center and volunteered at Providence St. Mary Hospital gift shop. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of the Umatilla Indian Tribe.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; brothers, Edgar and Joe Forest; sisters, Antia Barnes, Theresa Baker, Jean Rust and LaVelle Hawkins; nephews, Jerry Baker, Edgar Forest and Chuck Ferguson. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Glenn and Dick Baker, Mike and Greg Luce, John Cohn, Rita Ader, Janice Luth, Tom Forest, Susan Porter, Bob and Jon Dyer and Wayne Barnes.

Graveside burial services will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with Father Matthew Nicks officiating.
