Marjorie M. Bundy was born Dec. 5, 1931, in Erwin, Tenn., to James T. and Mary Robinson Murphy.
She attended schools in Erwin and graduated from Andrew Jackson Business College in Nashville, Tenn. On April 7, 1955, she married John Bundy Jr., in Erwin. She worked as a legal secretary in Tennessee and Virginia.
In 1965, she moved with her husband and small daughter to Walla Walla, bringing with them her invalid mother. After her mother’s death, she refreshed her secretarial skills at WWCC and returned to the workplace. She worked for 16 years as the secretary at White Temple Baptist Church/Christ Community Fellowship. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Beehive Rebekah No. 70 Lodge, and Mill Creek Homemakers Club. Her interests included Bible study, crossword puzzles, gardening, bird watching, and playing ball with her dog, Sadie.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Bundy of Walla Walla. Mr Bundy died in 2003.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015 with Rev. Zachary Taylor at the Dayton City Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Walla Walla, 1520 Pleasant Street. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or the Blue Mountain Humane Society through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home.
