Marilyn Ann Bergevin passed away peacefully at home with family and friends by her side.
Marilyn was born on October 19, 1949 to Mary Lou & Ernest Guglielmelli in Walla Walla. She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Grade School and DeSales Jr/Sr High School graduating in 1967. Marilyn participated in Cheer and Student Government as a class officer.
In 1967 Marilyn competed in the Miss Walla Walla Pageant and was crowned Miss Congeniality. Marilyn attended WWCC where she studied Bookkeeping. She was involved as a Cheerleader and Student Government while also taking part of the naming of the WWCC Mascot. She graduated in 1969.
Throughout her life, Marilyn worked in her banking career at various locations in Walla Walla including Baker Boyer Bank, First Federal Savings & Loan, and Frontier Federal & Washington Mutual.
She met the love of her life, Terry Bergevin, at the Southeastern Washington Fair and Frontier Days in Walla Walla as a teenager. They married on May 17, 1969 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Walla Walla and recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. She and Terry made their home in Walla Walla and eventually settled on the Bergevin Family Farm west of town.
Marilyn enjoyed singing and painting, volunteering and anything that involved family and friends. She was a great sport always willing to try new things like water skiing, snow skiing, driving farm trucks and running the sheep barn at the fair. Marilyn was known to organize fun events and was always ready to spend time with friends and family. She approached everything with a smile and keen sense of humor.
Active in the community, Marilyn was a member of Junior Club of Walla Walla, PTA, Beta Sigma Phi, Wa-Hi Big Blue Boosters, Wheels on Meals, 4H, Bunco and Ladies Tennis Club, Little League of Walla Walla, American Legion Baseball, Assumption Catholic Church, Walla Walla Country Club, a past board member of the Frenchtown Recreation Club and a volunteer at the Southeastern Washington Fair & Frontier Days.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Terry Bergevin, her son, Stacy Bergevin (Alexis) of Walla Walla & daughter, Adele Bergevin Ohler (Jeff) of Valleyford, WA. Sisters, Sharon Maccarone of Kennewick, Carolyn Guglielmelli of College Place, Kim Guglielmelli Klingenberg (Kurt) of Carnation, WA and Kathyrn Guglielmelli of Bremerton, WA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Josh, Peyton and Lauryn Bergevin of Walla Walla and Kaleb and Trace Ohler of Valleyford, WA along with numerous nieces & nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lou McKillip Beechinor and Ernest Guglielmelli, 2 infant brothers and an infant son, as well as her mother-in-law & father-in-law, Betty & Claro Bergevin of Walla Walla.
Viewing and visitation will be held at the Herring-Groseclose Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, starting at 10:00 AM until after the Rosary. The Rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 6:00 PM at the Chapel of the Herring Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019 at 9 a.m. with Burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. There will be a reception at St. Patrick Catholic Church following the burial
