Marge B. Marshall
November 9, 1933–December 6, 2017

Marjorie “Marge” Bossé Marshall, 84, of 534 Boyer Ave., died December 6, 2017 at Odd Fellows Home in Walla Walla.
Marge was born November 9, 1933 in Walla Walla to Bernard A. and Margaret V. (Tufts) Bossé. She graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1951 and Washington State College in 1956. In 1957 she began working for the Washington State Department of Public Assistance as a caseworker and eventually became a casework supervisor. On June 9, 1962 she married John W. A. Marshall. The couple had two children, and Marge became a full-time mother and homemaker in 1969. After her husband’s retirement in 1984, she delivered newspapers for the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin and the Spokesman Review for many years.

An avid bowler, Marge served as the secretary of the Walla Walla Women’s Bowling Association for decades and also on the WWWBA board of directors, which made her a lifetime director in honor of her service. She was also a devoted member of the Walla Walla Presbyterian Church and served in many leadership positions there, including Sunday school director and elder. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority for more than 40 years and belonged to the United Presbyterian Women and the Rebekah Lodge. Always looking for ways to help others, Marge also served the Walla Walla community as a classroom volunteer at Berney and Edison Elementary Schools, PTSA president, Girl Scout leader, and youth bowling coach.

Marge was well known in Walla Walla for her kindness, generosity, and ability to make friends wherever she went. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and traveling, often to participate in state and national bowling tournaments or Beta Sigma Phi conventions. She was also a major sports fan who could often be found in the stands cheering on the Wa-Hi Blue Devils, the WSU Cougars, the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners, and any team her kids or grandkids were playing for.

Marge is survived by her daughter, Beverly Marshall Saling, and son-in-law Rick Marshall of Seattle; her son and daughter-in-law, Rich and Casi Marshall of Kennewick; her two grandsons, David and Derek Marshall of Kennewick; and her great-grandson, Brayden Marshall of Kennewick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, David R. Bossé of Spokane.
