Margaret “Meg” Patricia Ellis, at 86, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2016, and is now joyfully reunited with the love of her life, husband, Jack, who preceded her in death.
Born on March 14, 1930 to parents Lillian and Jack Dawkins in Burnaby, B.C., she later met and married her husband, Jack Ellis. Meg and Jack eventually moved to Seattle, where they raised their young family, found a wonderful community at Epiphany Parish, as well as the University of Washington, where Meg graduated with a BA in the College of Arts & Sciences in 1977. Years later they moved to Walla Walla, where they made many close and wonderful friends through both St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and Walla Walla University and left feeling very loved and taken care of.
Meg is survived by son, Robert (Seattle); daughter, Cathryne (Seattle); niece, Pat and husband Vic Greenfield (Vancouver, BC); nephew, Steve Norman (New Westminster, BC); niece, Mavis and husband Paul Collis (Edmonton, AB); niece, Sylvia and husband, Denny Wotherspoon (Port Coquitlam, BC); great-nephews, Scott Greenfield (Vancouver, BC), Chris and wife Ariko Greenfield and their son Aston (Vancouver, BC); great-nieces, Cindy and husband Dean (Edmonton, AB), Leigh and husband Chris (Edmonton, AB) and Karen and Quentin (Edmonton, AB) and their families, all whom she loved very much.
A celebration of Meg’s life will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on February 18, 2017, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Walla Walla, Washington Odd Fellows Home in Walla Walla, Walla Walla Community Hospice and/or Walla Walla Christian Aid Center.
